The Edo State Government, led by Governor Obaseki, implemented the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation (EdoBEST) programme to improve basic education across the state. Through EdoBEST, the government is transforming learning outcomes for the 300,000 children across 1,029 public primary and 471 junior secondary schools in Edo State. EdoBEST is a Government designed and lead programme that is re-training all 15,000 government teachers – novice and experienced – to be technologically supported and empowered teachers.
Under EdoBEST, The Edo Supporting Teachers to Achieve Results (Edo STAR) programme is a hands-on government teacher training initiative forming a core pillar of the State’s reform agenda for basic education. The programme is developing a more highly skilled teaching workforce by training, supporting and motivating Edo State teachers to succeed in the classroom of tomorrow.

1. Job Title: Programme Manager, Schools

About the Role
- As the Programme Manager of School and Community Management you will be responsible for assisting in the management of the entire “front of house” school operations from beginning to end.
- This is a highly hands-on job, involving intense programme management skills, impeccable customer service, and constant accountability. This includes managing the engagement field team responsible for launching and managing new partnership schools as well as overseeing the execution of advertisements, events, and parent programmes.
What You Will Do
- Coordinate the Management of ‘EdoBEST Education’ Partnership Schools in collaboration with the Director of Schools and Academics
- Supervise and Manage Community engagement strategy for building powerful public schools
- Develop, manage and supervise PTA engagement activities in day to day running of the schools
- Coordinate schools, supplies, grounds, and overall inventory management; principal supervision and mentorship; and more – including accountability measures
- Coordinate community outreach across all ‘EdoBEST Education’ Partnership communities including advertisements, events, communications, programmes, promotions and more aimed at parents, community leaders and influencers, and general public.
- Spend time in EdoBEST Partnership communities developing knowledge of the communities as well as driving customer insights and critical business issues opportunities.
- Assist in recruiting, induction trainings, workshops, and on-going professional development.
- Oversee the collation of information from all departments; maintain weekly trackers, supervise data collection from field; work with assigned partners and Director to increase community linkages.
- Ensure that schools` grounds and buildings are maintained, oversee repairs, and training principles.
- Develop and work with Parent Teachers Associations, Community Leaders in developing strategic plans for school management.
- Oversee activities of the department in the absence of the Director.

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Business Management or in any relevant field.

2. Job Title: Officer, IT Operations

IT Operations
- IT Operations is responsible for last mile delivery of technology, ensuring that everyone from school staff to executives, all have the functioning technology they need to excel at their jobs.
- It also oversees the technical infrastructure that supports and connects all of our global offices, as well as the back-office systems that power our customer care centers, finance teams, warehouses, and more.
- Within the technology group, IT Operations also holds the distinction of being the only department with a dedicated presence in each of our operating territories, meaning that is also the key conduit and primary advocate for all aspects of technology at our, ensuring the work done by the other technology departments delivers on its potential.
About the Role
- The Officer, IT Operations role combines the provision of front-line support and superior customer service to our schools and support teams with the responsibility for one of our key functional areas in IT Operations, including asset management, problem management, and support office support.

What You Will Do
- Ensure delivery against one of our key functional areas for IT Operations:

- Smartphones and Tablets – ensuring high availability of school leaders and field staff devices, including proper assignment, monitoring and management (mobile device management), and procurement.
- Problem Management – ensuring that all Tech issues (“incidents”) are properly tracked and regularly analysed to identify our key “problems” (recurring incidents) – and to work on sustainable solutions
- Support Office Support: ensuring the support office is high-functioning – working IT Assets (laptops, printers, etc.), network, firewall, PBX, etc.
